From the Himalayan Hills to the Bagmati River, young changemakers in the remotest villages are building the future — one story, one photo, one dialogue at a time.

At Charkha, we’ve spent years learning with and from young grassroots workers, adolescent girls and boys— people who dare to dream and do, often in the toughest geographies.

Here are 4 simple, heart-crafted guides to help them (and others like them) strengthen their voice, share their work, and inspire their communities — in their own language, on their own terms.

The guides:
1. Facilitation Skills & Exercises – for meaningful, respectful conversations with communities.
2. Article Writing – for capturing real stories of change, gender, and resilience.
3. Report Writing – for reflecting on work in a relatable, engaging way.
4. Photography – for telling powerful visual stories, with ethics at the core.

Each guide is narrated by a curious little cat 🐾 who takes readers through the skills with warmth, humour, and wisdom — making learning fun and unforgettable.

This is our way of saying: Local action is powerful. Your story matters. And you have the tools to tell it.
